Swimming - Girls

Girls Swim Team is the place! Do you want to be a part of team and have fun, too? How would you like to get fit and stay cool in the pool?

We can work with all levels and ability- from novice to elite.  There are no cuts or tryouts to be a part of the team.  The only requirement is that you need to be able to swim a length of the pool without stopping.  We begin every season laying a foundation of core drills and skills for all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly) as well as starts, turns, finishes, and kicks.  Swimmers will have ample time to work on the strokes in practice and try them in meets.

There is a pre-season meeting in May to give out meet and practice schedules.  Practice begins in early August, with morning workouts typically.  A week before school begins, practice times move to, 3:45-5:45pm and will remain at that time to the end of the season.  Meets are typically on Tuesday evenings starting at 5:30 or Saturday invitationals that have various start times.  The season ends for some of the team with Conference Meet, which is the end of October/beginning of November, for other athletes, the next week at Sectionals, and for others who qualify, they end with WIAA State Championship Meet in Madison.

Our coaching staff has over 50 years of combined swimming and coaching experience in a variety of settings- club, YMCA, middle school, and high school.  We strive to teach all swimmers the most efficient techniques to reduce injury and ensure speed.  Head Coach Aaron Stachovak can be reached at  [email protected]
