Job Shadows

Job Shadows & Career-Based Learning

Lincoln students have the opportunity to participate in career-based learning activities through our partnership with Inspire WI! Inspire is a network of business partners throughout Wisconsin who are excited to help students learn about careers.

Job Shadows

If a student has done some career research and is ready for a more personalized experience with a specific company or career, they can request a job shadow. Job shadows give students the opportunity to experience a typical day in a career of interest. Students spend time with an adult at his/her worksite, observing and asking questions about a career.

Career Experiences
Local companies offer opportunities for students to tour and learn more about their specific business. Students will see first-hand what the company makes/does, learn about the career opportunities available, and what type of education or training is required for the industry.

Career Pathway Bus Tours
See careers in action by visiting local companies! Bus tours are offered throughout the school year and focus on highlighting a variety of careers in a particular pathway (i.e. Information Technology, Manufacturing, Healthcare, etc).

Virtual Career Chats

Weekly opportunities to virtually connect with local career professionals are offered throughout the school year. Students can participate live or watch past sessions. Career Chats focus on specific careers (i.e. dentist, lawyer, nurse, veterinarian).
