“Find a job you love, and you won’t have to work another day in your life”

Course Outline

Work Experience provides students with career exploration experiences and the opportunity to develop employability skills so they are better prepared to enter the workforce and/or continue their preparation for future careers through education or training.
Students must have a legitimate job (i.e. on-the-payroll) to be in the class.
Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from work.
All students must attend a required class meeting at the beginning of each semester. Once students have submitted the required paperwork they will begin their early release privilege.
Students must attend monthly meetings (scheduled during WIN), attend conferences with the teacher (two individually scheduled 15 min. meetings: one mid-semester, one at the end of the semester), and complete assigned reflections.
Good school attendance is required to participate and remain in the Work Experience program. Excessive unexcused absences will result in loss of early release privilege and potential removal from the program.
Students must submit weekly timesheets to account for their time not in school.

-90 hours of documented work time is required for each hour of work experience to receive credit. (i.e. if in Work Experience two hours a day, you will need 180 hours)
- Timesheets are worth 5 points each week.
