Global Scholars Program

Global competence is defined as the capacity to examine local, global and intercultural issues, to understand and appreciate the perspectives and world views of others, to engage in open, appropriate and effective interactions with people from different cultures, and to act for collective well-being and sustainable development. (OECD/Asia Society, 2018)

Purpose

Wisconsin's Global Scholars Program is designed to improve global learning across the curriculum in an effort to prepare all students to be workforce-, world-, and life-ready with global competence. (WI Department of Public Instruction)

Graduating seniors who successfully complete all components of the Global Scholars Program are awarded the Global Education Achievement Certificate by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. For their designation as a Global Scholar, students also receive a special cord for graduation from Lincoln High School and are recognized at the Lincoln High School graduation ceremony.
