Tennis - Boys

The Manitowoc Lincoln Boys’ Tennis program has a long tradition of building championship teams. We’ve been blessed over the years with dedicated players and supportive families. Tennis is a life-time sport that can be played almost anywhere and at every stage of life, promoting long term healthy exercise.

We believe there is a place for everyone on the team, no matter the skill level.  To that end we are a "no cut" program. Depending on the number of participating athletes, we offer a varsity and junior varsity team. But regardless of amount of athletes, everyone gets a chance to play.

Our season runs from the last Monday in March through the Individual State Tournament (usually the first weekend in June). If we are fortunate enough to qualify for team state, then the season would be extended another week for varsity. Varsity (and sometimes JV) do have Saturday tournaments during the regular season (5 maximum multi-team events). We practice at Red Arrow Park from 3:45 – 5:30 P.M. During inclement weather, we often practice indoors at the YMCA.  Time will vary based on court availability, so we ask our players and families to be flexible during the early part of the season.

The only equipment needed would be a good pair of tennis shoes and a racquet.  Warm clothing (sweats) for practice is a must. We provide match play uniforms and players will have the option to buy team apparel.

We pride ourselves on being a “blue collar” program.  Each day we roll up our sleeves and put in a hard day’s work effort – nothing fancy, just do your best.  We hope you’ll join us.
