I will be fair. You earn your grade, I simply report it.

                                               80 ‑ 89%   = B

                                               70 ‑ 79%   = C

Approximately once every two weeks (some unannounced).

End of Unit Tests (Mostly MC & T/F on fact and analysis based questions).

Make-up tests will be given if you miss the regular test day for any reason.  Make-up tests must be done on your time – not our class time.

Make-up tests (and possibly make-up quizzes) may be essay format!! ***

Note use is normally not allowed on tests or quizzes.

Homework

ALL WORK IS EXPECTED TO BE ON TIME!!!!! (When it’s collected).

30% of points lost if assignments are 1 to 5 days late (“C” at best)

50% of points lost if assignments are turned in beyond 5 days (“F”, but still some points!)

YOU ALONE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR HANDING IN LATE WORK.

If you miss a day, I will expect you are aware of what we covered or turned in. Otherwise, ask me what you’ve missed outside of teaching or passing time.  Before school, after school, my prep period, or lunch are all appropriate times.  I am usually in school by 7 AM and usually stay until at least 4PM.

“Late” work must have a pink “LATE ASSIGNMENT” slip filled out.

“Late” means not turned in when originally collected.  It does not necessarily mean you’ve lost points.  The explanation you provide me on the pink “Late Assignment” slip will determine whether you’ve lost points. Without a “Late Assignment” slip, you will lose points.

One "free" late assignment per semester (see the "Valuable Coupon").

One day excused illness = one day extension. (For example, if an assignment is due on Friday and you are absent on Friday, your assignment is due the next day you arrive.  If you were absent on multiple days, the assignment would be due with the same lead-time other students had for the assignment.)

SPORTS and ACTIVITIES ARE NOT A RELEASE FROM COMPLETING WORK

If you miss class due to sports or activities, you are responsible for handing in the assignments.  I will not remind you or beg you.  Assignments are turned in exactly as “late” assignments are turned in (next day, pink “late slip”, explanation, etc.).  If your explanation is valid you will receive full credit.
